Greenhouse Heaters

There are a few different types of greenhouse heaters available in the market. And it is rather difficult to tell which type of greenhouse heaters is better. Some people choose their greenhouse heater based on price and availability. Although this is the most convenient way, perhaps there is one other thing to consider, and that is performance.

One of the most popular types of heaters used today is the Modine greenhouse heaters. These heaters come in different variations, and all of them use certain resources. An oil greenhouse heater will of course require oil, and the same can be said for electric and gas heaters. Another important thing to consider is whether the greenhouse heaters are actually safe to use, because any accident resulting from such heaters can be rather disastrous.

A greenhouse electric heater distributes heat evenly and uses infrared heating. This works great when partnered with additional soil heat. With an electric heater, greenhouse temperatures are adjusted to a comfortable level so that plants can grow throughout the year. But it should not be used as a substitute for the heat given off by natural sunlight. A heating bench should be used with this greenhouse heater to ensure that all the plants benefit from the right temperature because the soil needs additional heat to help the plants flourish.

Gas fired greenhouse heaters are preferred by some gardeners because they heat the room from the floor up. Of course, propane greenhouse heaters will require a supply of propane in order to operate. Some of the better greenhouse gas heaters can also run on natural gas. One downside to running gas greenhouse heaters, as compared to electric ones, is that gas will require ventilation. A gas greenhouse heater may also have a less accurate thermostat. Due to the fumes it produces, a greenhouse gas heater is best used in a larger building, so that it will not harm the plants due to insufficient ventilation.

There is no definite answer as to which heater type is the best because ultimately, the choice depends on the type of greenhouse you own. A natural gas heater for green house may be most suitable for a large space because it provides heat from top to bottom without fail. On the other hand, greenhouse natural gas heaters are not as accurate as electric ones, so they may not be the best choice for maintaining a specific temperature. Choosing between a propane, electric, or natural gas greenhouse heater should depend on the specifications of the greenhouse and also personal preferences.
